Each Alpha power supply is built to meet customer requirements. We try to limit ourselves to units above 5 kilowatts. Our proprietary control circuits can regulate to better than 0.001% (10ppm). We have several standard power supply topologies available. The one we use will depend on the specific requirements of a particular unit.

Because the units are "built-to-order" we have ability to customize such things as cabinet size, color, terminal locations, etc. A full complement of options are available, including:

• remote interfaces
• specialized controllers
• multi-channel output units
• polarity reverse switches

Each unit is thoroughly tested into an appropriate load. (In the cases of very powerful units, final site testing may be required). Strip charts are produced showing current stability for various disturbances (line changes, load changes, etc).

Alpha's management personnel have been building power supplies since the late 1950's. Those were the days of vacuum tube op amps and germanium power transistors. Today's more modern circuits use chopper-stabilized op amps, digital to analog converters, and microprocessor control. Our engineering department is equipped with the latest computerized design tools.

We have built units up to 40,000 amps, up to 7 kV and up to 10 megawatts. Our test department can measure current to an accuracy of better than 0.0001% (1 ppm).

Our service technicians are available to travel worldwide to service what we sell. Startup assistance, warranty repairs, maintenance, can all be done at the customer's site.
